Hola, I’m JD.
Former NBA/WNBA dancer, sports production girlie, dance and jiu jitsu mom, and nutrition educator with a bachelor’s in psychology and a master’s in Clinical Nutrition.
I’ve been studying performance from every angle.
Dance taught me the mind-body connection.
Bodybuilding taught me discipline and measurable progress.
Psychology taught me behavior, drive, and emotion.
Nutrition gave me the tools to understand the physiology underneath all of it.
I thought I was moving between different worlds, but I was actually orbiting the same truth all along:
Performance is never just physical.
Science, translated for real families.
I’m not here to hand parents a rigid meal plan or turn Sunday into a six-hour meal-prep shift.
I teach brain-first performance nutrition — simple systems for energy, focus, hydration, sleep, recovery, confidence, and the brain-body connection.
ALZA helps parents fuel young dancers and athletes without food stress, diet culture, or unrealistic expectations.
We’re not here to shrink the athlete.
We’re here to fuel the performer.
ALZA Athlete Foundation
A future initiative designed to help build capable, confident, well-fueled young athletes through access, education, and care.
The long-term vision is to support dancers and athletes with performance nutrition resources, workshops, and opportunities that help them feel supported in and beyond their sport.
Because talent should be supported — not just discovered.
Because we’re not just building better athletes. We’re supporting growing humans.
More details coming soon.
